About the Author

Many years ago, when my children were in grade school, I came across a peculiar quirk involving how numbers aligned on a page between the tens and units places—they were misaligned as they ran down the page, particularly on the left-hand side. It presented a fascinating challenge, driving me to find an answer to why this happened and what problems it might cause.

I am not a primary school teacher by trade; I am just an everyday Dad who wanted to help his children see mathematics a little more clearly. While that initial discovery didn’t make it into the final draft of my book, it instilled in me a deep desire to look for more inconsistencies in basic mathematics.

This is who I am: someone who loves solving problems and questioning the standard system. That exact curiosity is what brought about The Natural Order of Maths.
